SCIENZA/CURIOSITA’ DAL MONDO – Rarissimo esemplare di rana zebrata… Attenzione a non calpestarla, non sei sulle strisce pedonali!

SCIENZA – La stagione degli amori delle puzzole cade in inverno, ma i piccoli nasceranno in primavera: si parla di piccoli cuccioli ciechi, sordi e praticamente inermi ed indifesi. La femmina li accudisce amorevolmente fino al loro sviluppo e raggiungimento dell’età adulta (circa 3- 6 mesi di vita). Sono decisamente graziosi i cuccioli di puzzola, peccato siano troppo maleodoranti per essere allevati in casa. Ma è doveroso dire a favore di questi simpatici animaletti che in cattività la secrezione di questo liquido è praticamente inesistente, se non in rari casi in cui la puzzola è spaventata o particolarmente eccitata.

Mating season for skunks is in the Autumn and little skunklets like the adorable creature above are generally born in the Spring. The babies are initially both blind and deaf, practically helpless. Their mothers defend them and care for them for three to six months of age, by which time they’ve developed into young adults. Skunk cubs are decidedly cute and it’s a shame they’re too smelly to raise in a home. It must be said in their favor though that in captivity these little animals rarely spray their defensive “perfume”, except in those rare cases where they are frightened or particularly excited.
