ATTUALITA’/DANZA – Una capretta Nubiana di tre settimane, rimasta orfana, cerca di imitare la sua padroncina a ballare e saltare. Sembra che ci riesca anche molto bene, ha un grande senso del ritmo o forse ama la musica e la danza….sicuramente è un’ottima allieva! Guardate il video.

A three week-old Nubian goat, an orphan, is learning to dance together with his human foster mother. It appears that’s working out pretty well too because – dare we say it? – the “kid” has got rhythm! Take a look at this YouTube clip.

Splendido primo piano di capra anglo-nubiana, una razza domestica di capra risultato di un incrocio fra capre da latte inglesi e capre di razza nubiana, originarie dell’alto Egitto (Nubia). Le sue caratteristiche principali sono le orecchie grandi e pendenti ed il muso aquilino. Sono capre piuttosto grandi; le femmine pesano più di 64 kg, mentre i becchi raggiungono i 95 cm d’altezza.
Queste capre possono vivere sia in climi assai caldi che in climi piuttosto freddi, il che ne ha favorito la diffusione in tutto il mondo.
Ultimamente, si sta diffondendo sempre più la moda di tenere queste capre più come animali da compagnia che per ricavarne latte o carne; questo grazie alla loro grande docilità ed affabilità, che le rendono piuttosto adatte alla vita domestica.

The Anglo-Nubian breed of goats, like the happy animal above, was developed in Great Britain of native milking stock and goats from the Middle East and North Africa. Its distinguishing characteristics include large, pendulous ears and a prominent nose.
Due to their Middle-Eastern heritage, Anglo-Nubians can live in very hot climates and have a longer breeding season than other dairy goats. These animals are known both for their sweet character and for the high butterfat content of their milk.
They’re large goats, with does weighing at least 135 lb. and 175 lb. for bucks. Though often thought of as being particularly vocal, they are relatively quiet when provided with food, water and shelter because, like human infants, if they are making noise, they are doing so to let their need be known. Nubians are also sometimes classified as stubborn, but experts say they are simply highly intelligent animals who know what they like and dislike.
