GLAMOUR – Normalmente per “abuso d’animali” si intende il maltrattamento fisico. Animal Glamour vede un gran numero di foto “buffe” di animali di compagnia e molte di queste ci fanno sorridere. Bisogna però tracciare una linea, bisogna intenderci sulla moda e sul glamour. Non sono dei semplici strumenti per richiamare l’attenzione. Coltivare la bellezza – perché è di questo che stiamo parlando – richiede gusto e intelligenza. La creazione di una “simpatica” mostruosità non rientra nella definizione. E’ un abuso, e un po’ ci dispiace che non possa essere punita per quella che è.

We normally consider that “animal abuse” is a matter of physical mistreatment. A large number of “funny” pet photos pass through the Animal Glamour offices and many of them make us smile. But at a certain point you have to draw a line; you have to remember that fashion and glamour are in no way simply instruments for attracting attention. Cultivating beauty – because that’s what we’re talking about here – requires taste and it requires intelligence. Creating an “entertaining” monstrosity does not fit into that definition. It is simply another form of abuse, and we feel a slight regret that it cannot be punished as such.

COSTUME – Quando ancora dominava la cultura contadina, la vita in qualche modo riprendeva con l’arrivo della Primavera. Ora invece, che siamo “moderni”, è con il rientro dalle vacanze che si comincia a parlare di Halloween. Per alleggerire i vostri pensieri vi anticipiamo un costume per il vostro gatto nel caso volesse accompagnare le streghe di casa il prossimo fine ottobre.

When a simpler farming culture was dominant, the world was held to reawaken each Spring. Today, somehow, the sensation of everything beginning again seems to come with the end of Summer vacation. First it’s “Back to School” and then Halloween is just around the corner. The Sphynx cat in this slightly alarming image just might be an inspiration if you’re already thinking of dressing kitty as a witch for “All-Hallows-Even”, as the festival was once known.

Two smitten frogs cling to one another in a dance to end all dances. The two lovers were spotted as they practiced an ‘ocho adelante’ in what may be the most romantic pond in Northern Europe.
